Any breeding should be taken very seriously as you are bringing dogs into this world. It certainly should not be looked at, to make money. If done responsibly and proper care is taken of the dogs you’re breeding and breeding with, you won't make money when breeding a litter. Think of all the food, care, vet bills and the time to care and raise them, just to name a few things that it costs not only to raise the mother and/or father, but also the litter itself. These things all add up and breeding a litter can be anywhere from $2,000 - $5,000+ just on breeding, whelping and raising a litter, let alone the rest of the costs of the parents. Before going ahead with breeding a litter, we recommend you read this website before considering breeding your dog or bitch. It will give you more in site into everything, from cost to caring for them. We also recommend you speak with other breeders and have a look at the health link, which explains a lot about the health issues in Alaskan Malamutes.
Please, when seeing breeders of your potential puppy, ask to see proof of any health testing they say they do. Also find out what health risks there are in the lines. ALL and every dog and line is at risk of producing a health issue, whether it's purebred or not.
